Right or Easy

I'm making choices. Choices that comfort me. May not be the choices that are 'Right'. Sometimes choices that are easy. 'Right' is something I define as not harmful for me and world around me. Values that I have that does not harm me and people and planet and universe. It could be honesty. It could be sustainability. It could be friendship. It could be truth.

Doing what is 'Right' and not what is easy. Easy is a compromise. Easy is an internalised norm by collective without giving much thought. 'Right' is often something not so easy because it can be not the collective conscience.

The question is if my individual choice is 'Right' or 'Easy'. And if the collective choice is 'Right' or 'Easy'. And if my individual choice is in line with collective choice.

Conflict is at two levels now. First at the individual level where I've to choose between 'Right' and 'Easy'. Second at the collective level where whether my 'Right' or ' Easy' choice is in line with collective's 'Right' or 'Easy'.

Started to be aware of what is 'Right' for me and for the 'Collective'. Then heading to make two fold choices going through the conflict.

This is a never ending process as long as I live. Am I being aware of this at all points of time? I need to be asking myself.

I think 'religion' came up when masses weren't seen to be aware of this at both individual level and collective level about the implications of their choices. Someone who perfected the art of being aware of choices always and who could figure out higher purpose must have suggested 'Right' choices against 'Easy' choices. But with respect to the time, place and circumstances. The collective then may not have let it evolve or take new forms. We are stuck in time warp with religions today.

For me, it just could be things like 'smoking' which is a choice I made. It is easy for me. If my value is not to harm myself and others around me, this is not 'Right' choice.
